I'm back! I can say that I have actually missed blogging and sharing my thoughts and events with you all. I spent nearly a month offline and away from social media. The time away has allowed me to focus on offline projects as well as personal life situations to gain clarity and understanding. Whew! Well all I can say is that this time away and self reflection has unearthed some truly deep down issues and problems that were festering in my personal life. A few major lifestyle changes took place and are currently awaiting resolution. Do I regret the unplug? Absolutely not! Sometimes there are things in our lives that come about and require endurance and refinement. In order to improve and be progressive in my life, I have been actively engaging in the following:
1. Bible Reading, Research, & Prayer
I have always been a Bible reader. During my Unplug, I researched scripture after scripture that spoke to my soul in terms of healing and comfort. Psalm 55:22, Psalm 71:21, and Psalm 30:2 were some that I read and found great comfort in.
2. Spending Time with Friends
I had been out of the habit of calling and spending time with my offline friends. During my unplug, they have been such a rich resource of wisdom and care! No matter what life brings, nothing can beat having a good group of girlfriends that you can call on when you need encouragement.
In 2010, I weighed 115 pounds. At the time of my unplug at the beginning of August 2013, I weighed 140 pounds. After going to the gym and working out I have lost a total of 3 pounds. Not too bad! I am trying to lose the weight in a healthy way and not drop weight too rapidly, but progressively, which leads to my next change...
4. Healthier eating & Meal Portioning
I have started back doing my morning smoothies. I make sure to have my heavier meals during the daytime, and at night I eat smaller portioned meals or have a smoothie for dinner. I can tell a big difference by doing this. I am now looking at incorporating more variety in my diet to make sure my nutritional needs are met.
5. Goal Setting & Journaling
Reflecting on improving my offline life, I have decided to set personal goals. I found an app that is called Goal Setting Workshop. It has been a big help with helping me to organize my thoughts and giving me ideas for setting appropriate life goals.
6. Pampering Myself
I had a fabulous facial, reflexology, and aromatherapy treatment during my unplug. It was well needed and very relaxing. This is something that will be a part of my regular routine. http://www.privatemoments.skincaretherapy.net
There are still major areas that I am working on improving in my life, but I figure this was a good start.
